Eto bylo vesnoy (1960)

In a provincial Ukrainian town, tenth graders Vera and Vasya fall in love. Together with classmates, they decide to leave for Siberia. On the last evening before leaving, walking around their favorite places, they become witnesses of an unexpected fire. Hearing a child crying, Vera rushes into the house, saves the child but gets severe burns. A stubborn struggle begins for the Vera's life.
