Several of the music industry's most illustrious artists united at London's Royal Albert Hall in December 2004, for a unique concert to raise funds for the victims of the conflict in Darfur, Sudan. A variety of acts, including lead singer of the Pretenders Chrissie Hynde, Simply Red front man Mick Hucknall, disco-diva Jocelyn Brown, soprano Barbara Hendricks and Broadway stage actress Ruthie Henshall, performed an extravaganza of music from Cole Porter, backed by the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra. EMI released the DVD of the concert to raise funds in support of the UN Refugee Agency's work in Darfur and Chad. The DVD also features exclusive songs by Sade, David Gray and Franz Ferdinand, as well as backstage footage from the concert.
