In 1898, Pablo Picasso made his first visit to Horta de Sant Joan, Spain, a town nestled in the heart of the mountains. Fascinated by the setting and the local people, he returned to Horta in 1909 and made a series of cubist paintings that would prove to be fundamental to an understanding of modern art history. "Everything I know, I learned in Horta", was the artist's explanation for the source of his genius. One hundred years later, we returned to Horta ourselves to figure out what it was that Picasso discovered there. A refreshing and revealing documentary.
