Vancouver Breadfruit Pie (2020)

Vancouver Breadfruit Pie is a short film that is a satirical comedic exploration of Caribbean foods in Vancouver. The film's protagonist is Shauntelle-a lovely, funny and sarcastic mid 30's Caribbean TV host of a Vancouver cooking show called Caribbean Cooking. In the current episode, Shauntelle is proud and excited to show her viewers how to make a breadfruit pie. As the film progresses, the audience learns that Shauntelle can't make the breadfruit pie because Stephen (late 20's-mid 30's)-Shauntelle's overly helpful, bumbling, assistant turned self-appointed director and co-host, brings Shauntelle bread and fruit. Stephen explains that the supermarket employee never heard of breadfruit so the employee brought bread and a fruit (a green apple) for Stephen. As a seasoned professional, Shauntelle is able to use her wit, quick thinking skills to overcome the setback.
