Somalis are working together to stop the old tradition of circumcising girls/women. In recent years, the Somali Women's Association in Oslo has also worked to stop the tradition. Based on the Human Rights Declaration, groups of Somali women and youth have repeatedly discussed the harmful consequences that the circumcision tradition can have for their lives, and the attitudes towards the tradition change gradually. Today men and women, boys and girls, talk together about how to work together to put an end on the tradition.
