National Prize of Plastic Arts in 2000, Juan Muñoz died suddenly a year later, at the age of 48, in full success of his installation 'Double Bind' in the Turbine Hall of the London Tate Modern, a work that consecrated him internationally as one of the most important artists of the twentieth century. 'Juan Muñoz, space poet' is the first biographical documentary about the sculptor. The documentary is articulated around a valuable and original interview unpublished, which Muñoz made in the Galician Center of Contemporary Art of Santiago de Compostela in 1996 and in which he reflected on his work and his ideas. Other voices, such as his wife, the sculptor Cristina Iglesias, or the actor John Malkovich, the sculptor Richard Serra, the artist Antoni Muntadas, the writer John Berger, the composer Alberto Iglesias, curators and experts like Carmen Giménez, Gloria Moure , or the British Adrian Searle and James Lingwood, among others, complete this first visual approach to the world of Juan Muñoz.All of them transmit their passion for an artist who, from his unquestionable free spirit, approached creation outside of fashion and formal ties. In 2012, this documentary was awarded several international awards such as the Houston World Fest and the Silver Dolphin in the category of Art, Music and Culture Documentaries, at the Cannes Television Festival. These awards recognize the quality of this television production on one of the plastic artists of our country that was most successful in the current international art circuit.
