Dancing Daughters (2021)

The documentary travels in the state of Rajasthan to explore the lives of the dancing communities there. And these women beautiful, richly dressed, and alluring and immensely fascinating as well, going by how many paintings or photographs of dancing girls one finds dating back to this period. These Nat tribe dancers who makes a living by entertaining men, women and children of all social classes, regions, castes and religions on various occasions including parties, weddings, christenings, religious ceremonies, and other social events. But with no jobs on offer, even for educated members of the community, the girls have been forced to join dance bars in Mumbai.The community of the Kalbaliyas..the snake dancers are limited to giving cultural performances. These communities live on the periphery of the Indian society.
