This film, shot between Detroit and New Orleans a few weeks before the 2016 election, is set to audio of the allegory "Mouseland," recorded in 1960. The voice on the recording is that of Tommy Douglas, a politician best-known for his leadership of Canada's first democratic socialist government and for implementing the first single-payer, universal healthcare system in North America. Though "Mouseland" was not Douglas's creation, he not only made it famous, he made it his own.
