Roland McIntyre, a deeply repressed mild-mannered man approaching middle age, suddenly finds his life skidding completely off track and he is headed for a full-on nervous breakdown. Luckily for him though, to guide him back to a semblance of normalcy, his oldest friend suddenly re-appears and has come to his rescue. It's just too bad he's a washed up, hard drinking super hero from the seventies named Captain Cosmo- the space Avenger; who also happens to be imaginary. And what's Captain Cosmo's advice to Roland? Why it's to follow your childhood dream. Two weeks and all his life savings later, Cosmo Comics opens its door as the newest comic book shop.
