Telemark was filled with music from capable players during the time Tarjei Audgundson grew up. After he started playing folk music for other people by using his violin, he was called Myllarguten. In 1831, he met Ole Bull, who was impressed with his music. After the meeting, Ole Bull realized what cultural treasure was hidden in the folk music, and started to use this music in his own compositions. Myllarguten is one of the greatest players Norway has raised, and has played an invaluable role in the development of folk music.
