The Cut (2014)

An illustrator suffering from depression and a creative block feels he has nothing better to do than drink and smoke. He has burnt all of his bridges and no longer answers the phone. While drunk and asleep a creature enters his home and and leaves destructive signs of its presence for its clueless victim to find. Realising that he isn't alone the illustrator attempts to leave the house; this attempt is foiled, however, as the creature has locked him inside his own home with an acidic fluid on the doors and windows. A violent struggle ensues between the man and the creature until other creatures begin to invade.
