Aadhav (2022)

Adhav, an earnest boy, dreams of becoming a famous actor. A band of friends are supportive of his ambitions. Although his father doesn't like the idea of him getting into the film industry, and because Adhav is a bright and intelligent student, his father wants him to follow the road always taken: get a job and settle down. Adhav was the second child of his parents. His father wished for a girl child. So when Adhav arrived in this world, his father was obviously disappointed. But what to do. He started dressing up Adhav as he wished to do to the girl child. Adhav's initial years were spent mostly dressed in a frock, his head donning a hairband. Much to the annoyance of the entire family, dressing up Adhav as a girl made his father very happy. In his college days, Adhav falls in love with a girl, Ashika, for the first time in his life. He improvises on all the ways of wooing a girl that he has watched in all these years in TV and movies. This doesn't work in his favor as the girl is not comfortable with the extravagant ways, she leaves him. Disappointed, Adhav immerses himself into movies again, falls in love again with another girl named Ashika, and when he shares his ambition of becoming an actor, the girl asks him to make a choice: their relationship or acting career. For Adhav, both are equally important. Wrong answer. Hence, Adhav moves to Bangalore and attends audition calls. Call it luck or what, he is selected as a lead in a new daily soap. During the shooting of the TV serial, he falls in love with his co-actor. He is now emotionally attached to this girl and proposes to her. She rejects him saying she is already married. Adhav is unable to handle the rejection and jumps of a building. The suicide is unsuccessful. Disturbed by this, Adhav's father takes help of a psychiatrist to figure out why Adhav took this extreme step. Knowing Adhav, father requests the psychiatrist to role-play as a scriptwriter, writing the story of Adhav for a film because Adhav will not express himself to a psychiatrist. Adhav's therapy begins. The life of the psychiatrist turns upside down when he figures out that the co-actor with whom Adhav had fallen in love was his wife. He understands that Adhav's love for 2nd Ashika was truest and advice's Adhav to go back to her. During the course of the therapy, Adhav realizes the same, goes back to her and apologizes, promising to keep the relationship over his career. They are back together, and like a true partner, Ashika supports Adhav's passion for acting. The psychiatrist kills his wife and goes to jail. He punishes his wife for being the reason for pushing someone to take the extreme step.
