Cleanse (Jane Mpholo) (2021)

Maria's dreams get crashed by the words of her own mother. She finds herself living the same life that her own mother lived; unplanned. As a domestic worker, she constantly endures the abuse from her "employer", Baas. Maria's journey is revealed through the relationship she has with the element water. We see the struggles that water brings her. - and the peace she finds in the element itself. There is a twist though. This is not the typical "maid" and "employer" relationship.
