Why Islands Because they a re those lands surrounded by the sea and, by the same sea, separated and united. And, as islands, separated and united we too are, in a mosaic film, in a sort of collective patchwork, of ordered and harmonious chaos of sensations, thoughts, memories, expec tations, loneliness, hopes that come to us in the form of images from friends, relatives, distant acquaintances or even strangers and constitute a sort of selfies of the inner self, a secret portrait of those who created them. So, when for this distance and separation, even more evident a as in these days when a small virus is king the bonds and the affects fail, images can constitute that universal language that erases all frontiers and brings us closer to each other. Images from all over the world that come to us from friends, relatives, far away acquaintances or even strangers and go to make up short stories picture postcards, selfies of the inner self a sort of colorful patchwork, of ordered and harmonious chaos, of sensations, thoughts, memories, expectations, loneliness, hopes.
