American Trash (2023)

A former combat vet, Milles Carpis, with tours in Iraq is haunted by memories of the war and struggling with PTSD. He finds solace in Melissa Maddox, a free spirited new age hippie environmentalist. She quickly develops an affection for Milles during a chance encounter when he reveals a secret admiration for Charles Manson. Melissa immediately anoints Milles devotee to her psychedelic world with a similar secret regarding Manson. They embark on a journey together down the disruptive streets of Venice California searching for a place in the sun. Their romance is suddenly interrupted by an event that reshapes both of their lives forever.
