The Closer We Came (2021)

World War II has just hit US occupied soil: Manila, Philippines. Bob Allen, formerly an American Navy ensign decoder is interned in a civilian Japanese prisoner of war camp in 1941. Bob plots with his comrades to ambush the enemy and attain supplies to help himself and his camp. He pursues adventure to the point of fatalism. After his initial struggles with the system and a strong desire for freedom he falls in love. His world and priority system is turned upside-down and he transforms his energies towards helping others and bringing light and love to the darkest of times.
