Shimmy (2021)

Raima, a shy but trying 11 year old, fails to qualify for the annual day dance auditions at school. Not because she can't do the shimmy but because of a growing development that has gone unnoticed by her heartbroken father Amol. When her classmate Prithvi tries to console her and invites her for his birthday party, she sees a silver lining in another wise gloomy day. However, as she gets ready to go to his house, she changes her mind. When Amol finds her sitting glum, worried, he prods to find out what's wrong. The discovery of what's troubling her makes Amol aware of many things that perhaps he's been in denial of. As both father and daughter address this new development, they set out on an awkward journey, overcoming their fears and finally accepting their new reality.
