The Dutch pianist, composer and psychiatrist Hans Henkemans searched his whole life for 'the essence' of music. In the 1950s, he made a name for himself at home and abroad with his interpretations of Mozart and Debussy, and is one of the most played Dutch composers. But then he came under fire and his name fell into oblivion.
