A cautious college student, Liv, and her best friend, Em, arrive at their destination: a beach house in the middle of the woods. However, as Liv pries into her true intentions, Em reveals that, despite the pandemic, they are there for a party happening that night. Liv is appalled but eventually agrees, hoping to reconnect with her friend. Since they arrived early, the two girls sit on the beach and reminisce about their past exploits of getting drunk and partying; though it's apparent they no longer have anything else in common. When Em offers Liv an unknown substance, she is again apprehensive but gives in and takes it. Sometime later the two enjoy their experience as their inherent differences become clear. While Liv remembers the past through a nostalgic lens and even suggests skipping the party, Em's excitement for the night takes over the conversation. But when the two head off for the event, Liv panics as she realizes her discomfort with partying and begs Em not to go. Em is resistant and continues to push, causing Liv to have an anxiety attack as she pleads with her to stay. Em doesn't listen and leaves her for the party. Finding herself back on the beach, Liv changes her home-screen from a picture of the two old friends to a photo of the ocean. Liv watches the waves go by, finally accepting that their friendship is a memory and that she needs to move on.
