As mental health challenges become increasingly pronounced among youths in "communities of color", access to culturally competent care continues to be lacking. LET'S TALK: Mental Health in color is a documentary series that examines unaddressed childhood disruptions in the mental health of "children of color" focused on the long-term ramifications resulting from sociopolitical and economic disparities. LET'S TALK: Mental Health in Color aims to address the dire need for early interventions, a shift of narrative in which mental health is viewed with a reduction in normalized stigmas and judgment demanding direct confrontation with past and present systemic and social policies. Hosted by "America's Psychiatrist, Dr. Jeff Gardere, each episode takes a look at the effects of varied mental health challenges caused by direct and indirect childhood experiences. From domestic violence, sex trafficking, natural disaster, bullying, gun violence, and homelessness to the stresses of participating in sports and becoming transgender, LET'S TALK: Mental Health in Color reveals that mental health challenges and care are not black and white and necessitate community-based solutions with a global call to action - LET'S TALK MENTAL HEALTH IN COLOR.
