The Malpasset Dam overlooks the town of Fréjus, a beautiful French Riviera town founded by Julius Caesar in 49 AD. On the night of December 2nd, 1959, the dam burst, a wall of water swept through the town. 421 people died in the flood and priceless antiquities were washed away. The film discusses the history of the tragedy, the life on French Riviera after the World War II until the disaster, and how the lessons of the tragedy reflect on our current infrastructure today.
