Slapstick humor throughout

Muriel whacks a cicada with a broom which comically explodes.

The climax has a menacing tone to it. Objects and Debris are thrown around, and some characters wrestle/tackle each other.

There is a car chase where character's lives are threatened. Yet it is mostly done comically and played for laughs.

Cicadas are run over by a van and hit with a wooden croquettes mallet. They ooze green slime as a result.
