The small town of Susanville, California, known mainly as the home of a state prison, embarks on a most impossible task: to form a major symphony orchestra inside its town limits. With the help of a collegiate soccer coach who also plays the trumpet, a small group of community leaders recruit people from different walks of life, all of whom share a common passion for classical music. The goal is to infuse Lassen County with entertainment and culture never before seen in the area. Over time, residents of the town join in on the project with tremendous enthusiasm and unprecedented support. Discover how the Susanville Symphony transformed a small community and the surrounding region.
