When Roline's children start living on their own, she struggles to make sense of life. Sila has just arrived in the Netherlands, but finds it hard to settle down here. In the emergency room of the young doctor Jeremy, children are often brought in with burns that have been smeared with toothpaste. Kariem's youth worker asks him to visit a lonely old gentleman. All four discover how helping people can enrich their lives.
