Professeur Taranne is a middle-aged man arrested by the police and accused of various things (indecent exposure, littering, plagiarism), all of which he strenuously denies, only to have his denials turned against him into more evidence of misdemeanors. Like in a nightmare, he insists that he is the famous Professor Taranne who has recently been lecturing in Belgium. However, he is unable to prove his identity, and the one woman who recognizes him thinks he is Taranne's colleague, Professor Ménard. The nightmare worsens, when he finds himself unable to read the notes for his lectures, which are in an almost blank notebook. TV adaptation of Adamov's 1953 absurdist comedy based on a dream.
