Behind High Walls is a short experimental film that takes place in the wake of the Egyptian revolution. The protagonist, Karim, represents disaffected youth in the Arab world. Unlike most Egyptians, he comes from an affluent family, who can afford to live in a luxurious house in a gated community. He is given an elite education abroad and has the opportunity to live and work abroad. But like millions of other Egyptians hoping for change, Karim joins the popular uprising against the ruling regime. He actively participates in the revolution, falls in love, and dabbles in drugs. But all comes to naught-his aspirations, his relationship, and his country's revolution.
