Eggs

Frances is a jaded ex-ballet dancer in her late 40s living alone with her flock of chickens. While anxiously awaiting a potentially life changing call from her doctor, Frances worries that one of her hens is ill as she hasn't produced any eggs in some time. Finally, she discovers the reason for her hen's lack of eggs: a rebellious 11-year-old girl named Maia has been sneaking into her yard and stealing them. Frances sits the defiant Maia at her kitchen table and interrogates her about the thievery. After sizing each other up, they realize they have more in common than they previously thought, and may even have things to learn from the other about seeking connection in others and themselves.
