Empire of Sand

The illegitimate daughter of an imperial governor, Mehr, is forced into an arranged marriage with a man who serves an immortal spiritual tyrant. While trying to come to terms with the magic in her blood, Mehr must save her maternal ancestors from extinction as they are targeted by the emperor of the empire - or the ancient gods will rise up from the sand and punish the world.
