Explicit sex scenes, several instances of sexual innuendo. There is no lead up to the first sex scene--the scene changes and there it is. It was quite shocking, because up until then the movie was somewhat chaste. Breasts are seen, along with explicit sexual movements as sweat pours down their bodies.

Prior to the aforementioned sex scene, there's a shot of Ben-Hur from behind as he's nude.

The second sex scene is less explicit than the first.
