Characters try to have sex, but they're clothed and no nudity is shown at all.

There are multiple scenes in which people kiss.

Makeout scenes never last longer than a minute.

In Season 3, they are wearing aprons, but their buttocks are still briefly shown.

In Season 6, a character takes a shower, and their buttocks are shown, but that's it. No graphic nudity, but most of the nudity that's ever shown is shirtless men, or the back of a woman.

Some brief instances of implied rape or being raped but it cuts away. As such, it is never ever taken too extreme but it is referenced.

In Season 1, two men and a young boy take a shower in a locker room. They are nude, but they are only shown from the waist up.

In most episodes, sex and nudity is mild and it is never that explicit. Also, there are some brief sex scenes but they never include any nudity, they are mostly just makeout scenes. The nudity, however, is always the buttocks if anything and is very rare, but only in a few episodes.

In Season 10, two characters have sex. The woman has the man follow her orders, threatening to kill him if he doesn't. She suddenly makes him remove his clothes and when he turns around, she herself has undressed. At this point, they are only shown from the shoulders up, and kissing is then seen followed by a zoomed out side shot of their unclothed bodies embracing.

In Season 10, two women kiss and they are shown undressing each other. Both of them are seen their in bras, but nothing else. They caress each other and one woman gets on top of the other. This is episode 4.

A few sex scenes. Nothing graphic is shown, but a couple have clear thrusting and moaning accompanied by brief nudity.

A scene shows a man and a woman having sex standing up in a forest. This is more disturbing than graphic and sexual but no nudity.

There are a few instances of attempted rape, but two scenes in particular are a bit disturbing. However, in one scene, a man forces a woman to strip and then humiliates her and shoves her down onto a table before nearly raping her. In another scene, a man licks a captive woman's face before stating how he is going to rape her, but he is murdered before going through with this.

There is a deep make out session about halfway through, but there is no other sexual content. However, the decomposed bare torso can be seen on a corpse and partially seen on a walker (she is the layer on her front).

There is a sex scene in the woods. The man removes the woman's clothes and she is left wearing her underwear. Also, he licks her stomach and although there is no full nudity, moaning is heard and thrusting can be seen clearly.

A man spoons a woman and frequently kisses her in bed. She is fully clothed but he is shirtless. However, they eventually end up having sex and thrusting and moaning can be heard and seen. Another man stares suspiciously at the tent they are in from outside.

A woman says she misses her vibrator and another agrees with her.

Shane and Rick talk about their high school love lives and explicity speak of their sexual experiences.

There are less sex scenes and sexual content as you go through the seasons. Season 8 has virtually no sex & nudity, unless you count kissing.

A man and woman smooch and the woman begins unzipping his pants. This scene takes place at night with the camera zoomed out, so this can hardly be seen.

A man and a woman kiss in bed fully clothed. The woman the climbs onto the man's lap and they continue to kiss, but the scene cuts before anything else happens.

A few graphic sex scenes with thrusting, moaning and rear nudity but it is extremely infrequent.

A character describes oral sex in detail while performing a violent act.

Tara is lesbian. Another character reports seeing her look down the shirt of another woman, but this is not shown.

There are two male characters clearly in a relationship. They kiss each other on the lips.

In season 6, Tara and another woman catch feelings for each other and kiss on the lips.

Carl is seen in a bed shirtless for the majority of the season 2's first half.

There are several sex scenes throughout the entire show, but there's never any nudity or genitalia shown.

Some episodes have nothing, and some show sex scenes with little to no nudity.

The death of a (zombie) child.

A dead animal is seen being eaten by crows.

In a brief scene, you see a zombie with a piece of meat in his mouth. Blood is seen dripping from his mouth.

In some episodes, you briefly see body parts lying around. This ranges from not very graphic to very gory such as a length scene showing a pile of half eaten people including children. Another bloody scene shows a pile of gore, and a starving man begins to eat this because of his hunger. He then discovers near by the body of a ripped child and makes the realization that he ate the remains of a kid.

Bloodily violent and graphic. A scene shows a man getting his head smashed with a barbed wired baseball bat and his eye is seen. He then gets his whole head smashed and a bog pile of brains is shown. This scene is very emotional and probably the most violent in the entire series.

Humans, as well as zombies, die in graphic ways with limbs ripped off, eyes pulled out, guts pulled out, torture, etc.

A group of cannibals prepare humans like meat and eat them. Very disturbing imagery is shown including a cannibal eating a man's foot in front of him. Also, he graphically chews a piece of meat off the bone. This is extremely disturbing.

A woman needs to give birth and she has to have a c-section. This is shown in graphic detail, and the baby survives, but the mother bleeds out.

Several scenes depicting eyes pulled out and guts ripped out. One of the more violent scenes shows a horde of zombies ripping a man open in two full onscreen. They then begin to eat his insides and flesh.

One character is known to beat people to death with a baseball bat covered in barbed wire. This is shown countless times, and one of the gorier incidents is when he hits someone so hard, their eye pops out of his head. The character than beats the dying man until his head explodes into a bloody mess. Brain and skull pieces are everywhere.

Many scenes show graphic deaths of zombies, but there are also many graphic deaths of humans. The humans killing humans are always the most graphic and disturbing. For example, a man slices a man's face in half with a machete in graphic detail, and he continues to hit the dead body until it is a disgusting bloody mess.

Zombies are shown frequently biting and tearing people apart graphically and then feasting on their guts and flesh. Expect this to happen in almost every episode.

A man's face is ripped in two onscreen.

A man is eaten alive partly by humans and is finished of by walkers.

Several grisly suicides.

Many disturbing children deaths.

In Season 10, an antagonist sneaks into one of the main communities through the drainage system and kills countless members of the community in the cover of night. There is extremely graphic blood and screams.

Season 10 has strong bloody violence and gore, and it can get very graphic and brutal. In one scene, a woman's throat is graphically slit open and blood oozes out until she dies. Also, in one part, a woman has her entire head pulled off with a piano wire, and in one episode, there is a brutal scene where the villains graphically murder a bunch of people with tons of blood. Multiple people are also graphically torn apart and eaten alive by zombies.

Season 6 contains frequently strong bloody violence, gore and a scene of extremely sustained and intense threat.

In season 7, 2 people are beaten to death with a baseball bat. The 2nd man to die is shown with his eyeball sticking out of its socket because he was hit so hard. He is then hit several more time until his head is a bloody mess of brains, skull shards, and a loose eyeball.

A woman is attacked by zombies and her stomach is ripped open and her face is bitten off in closeup.

A fan favourite character's stomach gets ripped open by a zombie. Very brutal, bloody, devastating and horrifying.

A sadistic psychopath tortures a man by burning half of his face off with a hot iron, and his flesh is shown burning and peeling off (this is extremely brutal and grotesque).

A zombie pushes its face into a fence until it's chopped into bits by the fence (EXTREMELY graphic).

A man gets pressed up against a revolving door by zombies and gets ripped to shreds. His neck is bitten and his face is literally ripped apart in extreme close-up as he screams (extremely gory and vicious).

A group of characters break into the villain's base and stab them all to death while they sleep (extremely unsettling).

Zombies attack and kill a woman. Her stomach is ripped open and a zombie eats her face in close-up. Graphic blood, guts and jaw breaking are shown.

Zombies are stabbed in the head with blood spurts before a woman cracks open a dead zombie's ribcage and pulls out its organs. This is in the dark but still gross and graphic.

Throughout the show, there are graphic wounds and injuries being shown (very disgusting and explicit).

Buckets are shown filled with organs (very graphic).

A zombie floats down a river, and a man finds it and cuts its body open (this is gross and very grotesque details of organs are shown in closeup).

A zombie's head is smashed with a bus door. It's brains are shown popping out of its head very graphically with disgusting sounds.

The top of a zombie's head is cut off with a piano wire before being stomped on and exploding all over the camera.

A man is beaten to death with a rock. Blood sprays everywhere and brains are shown popping out of his head.

A man's cheek is bitten off by a zombie with a large blood spurt, lots of gore and a detailed view of the wound. He is then stabbed in the back of the head with a blood spurt because he is screaming too loudly.

A man's neck is bitten by a zombie. A gaping wound with lots of blood spurting out is shown as he chokes.

A man shoots himself in the head with blood spray before he is graphically ripped apart by zombies with lots of blood spurt and organs shown gorily.

A zombie is stabbed to death with a broken bottle. Thick amounts of blood fly through the air.

A flashback to man's dead body being ripped apart by zombies, his back is shown being ripped open while organs are pulled out.

A zombies eye vein is stuck to a fence. Very bloody.

Zombies are cut open and their organs are shown extensively.

A child is eaten alive in front of his mother. His face is shown getting crushed with blood pouring before a zombies rips a piece of meat out of his neck.

A teenager is shot in eye and a massive and graphic gory wound is shown. However, the character survives this.

A lot of zombies are graphically murdered. A man is stabbed in the neck before his throat is cut and blood pours and sprays onto the face of another man in a very prolonged and gory scene.

A woman is impaled on a pipe before a large piece of flesh is bitten off her face by a zombierrr.

A woman leads a large group of zombies and humans into a meat grinder and they are shown being crushed while screaming. Afterwards a conveyor belt is shown with thick grisly red sludge coming out for around ten seconds, very uncomfortable to watch and graphic.

A woman gets a disease and another woman burns her to death and drags her body into a hole.

A woman is shot through the eye with an arrow. Incredibly graphic and shocking.

Several characters either commit suicide or attempt to commit suicide.

A man goes insane and guns down his whole community. Blood spray and screams. This scene is very intense.

A horse is shown being eaten alive. It is ripped open and it's organs are shown being pulled out for a prolonged period of time. Very gory and graphic

A man finds a whole family dead by murder suicide in a house. This scene is extremely shocking and graphic.

The body of a man who shot himself is shown. His head is completely destroyed and brains and blood are splattered everywhere.

A man shoots himself and blood splatters all over the wall behind him.

A man and a woman lock themselves in a building that is about to blow up.

A man shoots himself in the head and blood splatters on another characters face.

A man prepares to shoot himself but doesn't go through with it.

A girl cuts her wrist offscreen. No wound is shown but blood flow is seen.

Zombies tend to bite, chomp, maul, and devour humans, especially the heroes. Zombies are shot, stabbed, impaled, and mutilated.

In season 7, two major characters are brutally beaten to death with a baseball bat to the head. The killer repeatedly smashes their heads until they turn into a bloody mess of brains and skull shards. The second man's corpse is shown close up with his head splattered all over the ground and we can see half of his eye ball in the mess. His hand is still twitching at this point. Nothing is held back in this scene and it is probably the most disturbing moment in the entire series.

In season 11, a corpse is dragged into a cell and fed to a zombie. We don't see it feeding but we see the aftermath and it is extremely graphic and disgusting. Entrails, blood, and meat are seen ALL over the cell. Very, very graphic.

In season 6, a woman stabs another woman to death with a pair of scissors. Very bloody/gory and quiet shocking.

The first two seasons has tamer violence than the rest of the series but blood and gore is still present and most of it comes from zombies than living humans. Season 3 is when the violence become much stronger where it got to the point where AMC changed the rating from TV-14 to TV-MA. The first two seasons were re-rated to TV-MA as well.

Level of violence: 10/10. Extremely violent and gory.

Season 1s gore is mainy computer generated but is still brutal.

Almost all episodes of this show contain extremely graphic depictions of violence, with shootings and scenes of zombies attacking humans and the latter shooting and using various weapons on the former, with plenty of blood visible.

A variety of weapons are used to kill zombies. Throughout the show many zombies are seen in various states of decay, sometimes with bones being exposed. However, this is not overly graphic.

All of the fighting and killing of zombies takes place within the context of self-defense, rather than with any sadistic intent or relish, and within a firmly established fantasy context. But, the killing of humans frequently commited by sadists and torture is very common. For example, a man is forced to eat his own meat after his legs are graphically chopped off.

In a change for the show, during the final 8 episodes of Season 11, the word "fuck" is said about once in an episode before that it had been used once is Season 4 (DVD only), once in Season 5 (DVD only), used many times by Negan in the Season 6 finale (DVD only), and once in Season 9 (DVD only).

Merle Dixon, is seen to be a racist and makes several offensive remarks, including the infamous "n-word."

The f-bomb is used multiple times in season 11.

Profanity is used sparingly, with the word "shit" being the strongest said a few times every episode. Words like "bitch," "asshole," "dick," "prick," "pussy," and "jerk-off" are infrequently used. Other than that, the only regular profanity is quite mild (Such as "ass," "hell," "piss," and "damn" respectively).

There are also limited instances of religious profanity such as "Oh my God," "Jesus!" or "Christ!"

The middle finger is seen on a few occasions.

In season 10, a character is addicted to caffine pills. Hallucinations occur and methamphetamine is mentioned in the same episode

In season 10, two characters drink an entire bottle of whiskey and get increasingly drunk and their decisions get increasingly worse.

In season 4 there is an episode where two characters spend an entire episode finding Moonshine, and later in the episode they get very drunk.

Alcohol is consumed in some episodes.

Some characters smoke cigarettes.

References to hard drugs are made rarely and are not depicted in use.

Bob is an alcoholic.

Children and animals are sometimes seen getting abducted and dying. This can be emotionally intense.

Season 11 is by far the scariest season.

A character has his head hit with a baseball bat while all of his friends are forced to watch. The scene does not last more than 3 seconds, but this is probably one of the few moments which are hard to watch.

A character wears the face of a zombie as she cuts another woman's head completely off with a string of piano wire and then proceeds to hand the head to the victim's boyfriend. Then, she proceeds to stab her boyfriend multiple times in the stomach.

In season 10, two characters are held at gunpoint and forced to play russian roulette.

In season 10, one whole episode is centered around characters stuck in a dark cave filled with zombies. This will likely induce anxiety to claustrophobic viewers.

Characters disguise themselves with zombie guts to move past zombies. It begins to rain and they run away from the zombies while shooting and stabbing them. This is very intense.

A woman is forced to kill her undead sister. Very depressing and scary.

People are scared and screaming as zombies surround them and they think they are about to die.

A dying man has nightmares about zombies.

A man goes insane over the course of a season and kills multiple people.

A man shoots down everyone in his community. Lots of screaming and blood, extremely intense.

A woman is threatened and nearly raped. This is EXTREMELY intense and graphic.

Zombies fall through the ceiling of a department store and attack and kill several people.

Animal violence throughout.

Attempted child rape.

Several people are graphically murdered or eaten by cannibals.

A group of people are hiding from a gang of murderers and they are nearly found.

This show is extremely depressing and horrifying. Some of its main themes include survival, isolation, power, loss of sanity, death and community.

A few instances of self-harm that could be disturbing or triggering, especially for younger viewers.

A lot of major characters die throughout the series, with some of their deaths being very emotional.

In season 7 a man is tortured by being fed sandwiches with dog dood in them. And at one point is beaten by several of his captor's men.

The overall tone is quite dark and gritty. Fight scenes are absolutely not stylised, and they are often filmed with a shaky cam that could scare younger viewers.
