Bloody scenes involving knives, as well as fistfights between family members. The show's suburban setting means that the violence is less over the top then some other anime series, but there's still a fair amount of it.

The villains of series, referred to as Arrancar, who were once Hollows can regain the powers and appearance of their Hollow forms. Some villains' transformed appearances are quite gory to look at. One villain takes the form of a parasitic creature. Most of the villains sport holes in their bodies, one who has a hole through his head which is hidden by an eyepatch. The holes do no damage to their bodies and are just part of their appearance.
Most of the Arrancar villains can fire laser blasts called Cero.
One villain has a jar of liquid for a head with two other heads in it. He is stabbed through the head by Rukia Kuchiki and killed.
