Song of Sadness (1999)

For each episode the filmmaker travels to another location somewhere in the periphery of Europe. In the local, still existing, singing tradition he meets a singer who tells us the story behind his or her most important traditional song. These are stories about the profound themes of life such as death, love, loss etc. Each episode ends with the performance of this particular song through the singer.
