Animals mating, mild jokes and innuendo that will go over the heads of children. Phrases such as "it must have balls" and "knocked up."

A few mating scenes are pretty graphic including an exposed, ejaculating elk penis.

Animals fighting, animals bloodied and hurt, animals killed, dead bodies of animals, animals hunting, animals shown with blood after giving birth, animals trying to consume afterbirth and other unappetizing meals. Not as violent or gory as most normal animal documentaries.

Narrator often speaks of more violence than is ever shown and is sometimes quite graphic in his descriptions of what the animals could do to one another. For example, that a mother polar bear could rip someone who touches her cubs limb from limb and spread their entrails over the snow if she wished.

Some references to human death for comedic effect.

Mild "bad" language such as "damn," "hell," and use of terms such as "balls" and "knocked up."

Animals fight, sometimes with blood. Animals eat other animals. Animals hunt other animals. Dead animals are seen. Some animals have close calls but escape unharmed. There is little suspense and the tone is kept very light, all encounters are brief, and even death may be presented as comic relief. The show is definitely more of a comedy than a documentary. With its Pythonesque style, it is hard to become too upset about anything, but sensitive children still might fear for the animals' safety or be disturbed by their deaths.
