The Lords of Hemone prepare for war against an ever-advancing, mysterious, enemy. The Divines are in chaos, as the Twin Gods face off for control of the Emperium's fate. Governor Vire of Hemone must unite the lords and knights together against this new foe. But for any hope of victory, he must look to the ancient and war-like natives and overcome millennia of hostility to create an uneasy alliance. The Twin Gods, Benhintashan and Melzan, prepare for war with one another. Melzan summons the mages of Hemone to his cause. Jarkiel, a monk in the order of Aether, escorts the troubled mage Airver'ice to his order's temple to break the demons' grasp on her. Once restored, Airver'ice's power could tip the balance in Melzan's favor. The swords of the northern lords, the power of the mages, and the wrath of the ancients--all must come together or Hemone will fall.
