Drinking is shown in an non-glamourised manner, characters vomit or collapse after excessive drinking. Drinking is a major theme for the main character, implied to drink regularly.

References to drugs such as marijuana, cocaine and crystal meth. These drugs are not shown.

Mind-altering drugs are referenced to in a horrific way, causing gory death to those who didn't give in to the drugs, such as their faces melting into a bloody mess. Quite disgusting.

References to lethal injection. Quite horrific, played for black comedy.

Fictional drugs are sold on the street in a dystopian future, such as "Override" and "Fantasy". Played for laughs.

Poltergeists and phantoms are shown, more funny than scary.

The whole show has quite a dark theme, though funny instead of scary in most cases, but the humour can get quite dark and the nature of the characters can be overwhelming at times.

Themes of death are constantly present, though in a comical manner.
