A Husband's friend is a mystery crime film based in an idyllic coastal village. The story begins when a middle-aged woman, Marja-Leena, falls a victim to a raggedy-faced man's attack. Marja-Leena ends up killing the man as an act of self-defense and disposes the corpse into the sea, hoping, that no one will ever know about the incident. The very next day, a mysterious Frank Niemi arrives in the village, who seems to know everything about the events. Frank starts to torment Marja-Leena about the events and won't leave her in peace. Who is this mystery man and what does he really want? An exciting cat-and-mouse game forms between Marja-Leena and Frank, which deepens into a macabre stage play. Frank is ready to rip open all wounds from the past to get the guilty to confess their deeds. But in the end, who is the real victim of the story?
