Growing Up (1996)

An award winning drama, Growing Up is the answer to Singapore in the sixties and seventies. The earlier seasons see Mr Tay, a stern father struggling to hold on to a familiar way of life amidst tumultuous changes that threaten to tear the family apart. Some of the most memorable moments include the death of Mrs Tay, which left the Tay family devastated, Vicki's divorce with her unfaithful doctor husband, Tammy graduating from university, David's decision to move to England and Gary's marriage to Karen. In the latest season, expect more dramatic twist when Gary commits adultery, Karen suffers from a miscarriage and Vicki's son contracts leukaemia. Expect to also see two new faces - Aileen Tan and Cynthia Koh who play Mr Tay's love interest and Gary's mistress respectively.
