The Midnight Gospel (2020)

There is some male and female cartoon nudity in this series. A nude male infant is shown in a few shots in an episode. An adult male is shown nude in multiple shots for a portion of another episode. There are some fantasy depictions of non-human breastfeeding.

Graphic nudity is an infrequently occurrence throughout the entire show, but when it's shown, it's not censored or obscured at all. Both male and female genitalia, including pubic hair, is shown, but it's animated. The main characters portal is a vulva and he portals through into the vagina.

Some crude, but comical, sexual references

Strong graphic violence is present in almost the entire season. Slashing, stabbing, shooting, choking, and bludgeoning are always in detail.

Gore is very frequent as well, with multiple shots of blood splattering, blood letting, and viscera.

A conversation in S1E7 briefly discusses the Civil War and the process of disembowelment and decomposition.

"Fuck", "shit," "ass," "cunt," and other profanities are used at least once throughout the series.

Like the film 'Waking Life', The Midnight Gospel deals with existentialist topics regarding death, religion, drug abuse and much more. Character's anxieties and regrets are mentioned frequently.

"The Midnight Gospel", albeit a science fantasy dark dramedy, has a consistent theme throughout all of its episodes; all episodes deal with heavy topics such as drugs, pregnancy and the afterlife, sorcery and other forms of ritualistic magic, emotional connection, self-awareness, meditation and self-acceptance, institutionalization of death, and the concept of birth, life, and death altogether and accepting death as it is.
