In an alternate timeline where Québec became an independent country following the 1995 referendum, Jacques Hamelin (Guy Nadon) is the 4th president of the new nation. He faces many challenges, not the least of which is the fact that more than two decades after it's separation from Canada, the country is still stuck in an identity debate: should Québec return to Canada?
