The theme song came from a Frank Zappa tune, "I am the Slime". Hence the title "Slime Theatre." Tom Blaylock, came up with the show's logo. Bill Bowman was instrumental in helping make the show popular. The "Bowman Body" made many appearances on the show. Bill eventually returned to Richmond to work for Educational TV. After Howard Meagle left the show, the person who had been directing "Slime Theatre" assumed the position of host, Pat Bauley who called his character "Dr. Sludge".
