Famed, infamous and legendary: Hamburg's harbor district St. Pauli is a sinful mile, a red-light district, a demi-monde and refuge for gangsters and stranded people altogether, but it is also the starting point of musical world careers such as the Beatles or Jimi Hendrix. As if through a prism of contemporary German history, this documentary series anecdotally sketches the life stories of St. Paulians both prominent and unknown, on the basis of the quarter's most famous streets.
