Casey Beck

Casey Beck is a documentary filmmaker whose recent work focuses on technology, identity, and intimacy. Her short documentary Shades, a film about emoji skin tones, recently premiered at Cinequest 2019. Casey's debut feature documentary, The Organic Life (2013) won Best Documentary at the Santa Cruz Film Festival, achieved national broadcast on Pivot (formerly of the Documentary Channel), and is now available on iTunes and other VOD platforms. She has shot for FRONTLINE/World, NowThis and FoodMattersTV, and her work was selected as a New York Times Critics' Pick. She has won a Fulbright Artistic Scholarship, Excellence in Service Award from CSU East Bay (where she lectures in Documentary Production) and the Bill Nichols Documentary Award from San Francisco State University (where she received her MFA).
