The Mabou Mines

Mabou Mines is an avant-garde theater company out of New York City and was founded in 1970 by JoAnne Akalaitis, Lee Breuer, Philip Glass, Ruth Maleczech, and David Warrilow. Still led by some of its founding members, the group focuses on the creation of new theater pieces from original texts and the use of existing texts staged in new ways, from specific points of view.
