Declan Hurley

Declan Mckowan Hurley was born on January 3, 2002 in Silver Spring Maryland. He and his family moved to Buffalo, NY in 2003, and they have lived there ever since. He was born profoundly deaf, and he got surgery for the cochlear implant, an advanced hearing aid. It allowed him to hear. In December 2009 Declan bought the book 501 Movie Stars. It inspired him to start making short films, starring him, his parents, his grandmother, and his friends. In July 2010 he bought a book called 101 Horror Movies, which influenced him to start making horror films. Well, he sorta already had been doing that, but this made horror a more appearing genre in his films. When his mom ordered his Halloween costume, he ordered a fake knife hand from the Puppetmaster, a meat cleaver, and a kitchen knife as well. With all those, he was making movies every night. In 2011 schoolwork slowly stopped all his movies, and he only made four that year. In early January 2012 he made The Criminals with his friend Graham Hendler. It also starred his friend Matthew Klein and his uncle Mickey. In 2012 he finished his segmental film The House on Creepy Lane. It contains six five minute segments of horror, crime, and action, and is Declan's favorite movie of his.
