Born in Richmond, Virginia, in 1990 at MCV. In 2008, majoring in Philosophy at Virginia Commonwealth University while also acting in student films and modeling, eventually discovered an opportunity appearing as a background extra in season 2-4 of AMC's "TURN: Washington's Spies" 2014-2017 and PBS's "Mercy Street."
In 2015, moving to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in order to focus on film & music production, as well as figure modeling at UArts and Fleisher Art Memorial while also developing a noise label 'Echo Options.' Currently helping produce various local Philly-based projects, recently the 48 hour film project and South SillyCam.
"Alroy Mellor" is an alternate pen/professional-name crafted by Robert in 2014 while living in the attic of the gatehouse in Hollywood Cemetery located in Oregon Hill, Richmond, VA. The name is more-or-less a simple phonetic combination of both Parental units names and is attributed to the many various musical and sound-based art projects based in South Philadelphia established by Shropshire/Mellor while also taking over as a completely new creative entity/individual. Bordering on a Philosophy experiment exploring personal identity and an esoteric performance piece based on experimental postmodern theory/new age spirituality, it's resulted in a new social media presence, thus Alroy continues to exist as a recording artist and producer of noise/music.
