Ryan Rundle is an American filmmaker, musician and visual artist. Over the course of his career, he has directed global campaigns and branded content for companies such as Sony, Freeletics, Boss, V-Moda, and legendary MI brand, Roland.
Born in 1988, Rundle was raised in the mountains North of Spokane, WA. He studied film and drama at the University of Montana while working nights as a bouncer in bars and clubs. Upon graduating, he wrote, directed and edited "The Life and Times of an American Playboy." Financed with his savings (approximately $3,000) and crewed by friends, the short garnered interest from 20th Century Fox in 2011 and propelled the young filmmaker head first into Hollywood's entertainment industry.
While developing his feature-length script, Rundle continued working as a grip, gaffer and more. In 2012, he moonlit as a print and runway model in an effort to research the subject of his screenplay. His ironic success led to a niche directing and editing fashion videos for companies such as Harper's Bazaar and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. In 2014, he was nominated for best editor by the International Fashion Film Awards and his work with LA clothing icon, Skingraft, was published in Papercut Magazine the following year.
In 2016, Rundle directed his first global ad campaign for Freeletics (just two days after surviving a near fatal motorcycle accident). In 2017, he was hired by MI giant, Roland, to revamp the company's motion and stills content, redefining the way the 50-year-old brand communicated with musicians. In 2019, Rundle's acclaimed sports documentary, "Afterlife," garnered three Academy Award-qualifying festival selections, as well as worldwide distribution with DocsNow Plus, and in 2020, he directed the iconic music video for "Fire for You" by Cannons, helping the hit single reach number one on Billboard's Alternative and AAA charts.
