Álvaro Jiménez Garzón

Alvaro Jimenez graduated as a musician with emphasis in sound engineering from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana of Bogotá in 2016. His degree thesis (Tambora: Songs from Loba), documentary made in various towns in northern Colombia, is condecorated with an honorable mention by the university and achieves the first place in the AES Latin American Student Competition in the Audiovisual Media category. In 2018 he finished the program in Digital Cinema at the SAE Institute Barcelona. He has written and directed several projects, such as the web series "El Jefe" (2018) and "Palabras al viento" (2017) campaign, organized by "Paz a la Calle" group in Catalunya, Spain. He has written and directed three short films: "Huellas" (2017), a short film awarded as Best Short Film in the Alumni category of the SAE Institute Barcelona. "El Viaje" (2018) selected in the Best National Short Film category for the Villa del Cine Festival in Villa de Leyva, Colombia. And the short film "Reflejo" (2021), selected on several festivals around the world. In 2019, he opened his own production company, Piranga Films, which is now based in Bogotá, Colombia.
