Closed To Interpretation (2017)

Closed To Interpretation explores one New Orleans community's relationship to the popular term "Black Lives Matter" and its reactionary counterpoint "All Lives Matter" within the context of a traditional street parade. This stylized documentary uses local voices and expressionistic cinematography to question how intent and meaning can often be lost or misinterpreted in contemporary symbols.
