The Nostalgia Blues (1948)

An upper class family has fallen on hard times and run out of money. The older daughter has to find a job in order to make money as a result. She also needs money for her ill younger sister who is experiencing lung problems. The girl becomes a cabaret singer, which is where she is seen by a customer who is a trader. They begin dating. The younger sister is improving due to treatment at the hospital and is discharged. When her sister picks her up at the hospital it happens that the trader's wife is there.
