The conditions here are worse than any prison. This is a real life Sodom and Gomorrah, and it represents a massive failure of international cooperation to find a solution to electronic waste. Here in the capital city of Ghana, one of Africa's bastions of peace, lies undeniable corruption and neglect of human rights. In the Agbogbloshie slum of Accra, Ghana, millions of tons of electronic waste are dumped each year, mostly illegally. Young men from the poorest regions of the country come here to harvest copper scraps from the old electronics to sell, poisoning themselves in the process. These boys are here as a result of child labor and corruption.
